Wow, the past couple days have flown by.  I have taken excursions to Berkeley and to Alameda Island.  Wednesday I walked around U.C. Berkeley and explored parts of the campus I've never seen before.  Yesterday I went to the Pinball Museum in Alameda where I played pinball machines for three plus hours.  I particularly enjoyed the Doctor Who Pinball Machine.  It must have been made in the late 80's since it only features the first seven doctors.  But it has sounds and characters from the old show that pop up throughout the game.  Of course they also have a bunch of old machines there, too; back when pinball was considered something more like a slot machine.  More of a game of chance not skill.  I think life is like a pinball machine.  So much stuff is out of our control.  You sometimes just have to let the ball go down the middle past the flippers.  So sad.
